Conduct Me By The Right Path

हयो न विद्वाँ अयुजि स्वयं धुरि
तां वहामि प्रतरणीमवस्युवम् ।
नास्या वश्मि विमुचं नावृतं पुनर्विद्वान्

पथः पुर एत ऋजु नेषति ॥ ५.४६.१

hayo na vidvān ayuji svayaṁ dhuri
tāṁ vahāmi prataraṇīmavasyuvam
nāsyā vaśmi vimucaṁ
nāvṛtaṁ punar
vidvān pathaḥ pura eta ṛju neṣati [5.46.1]

The one who knows attaches himself to his task, like a horse to a chariot.
I also bear that task whose goal is farther beyond and leads to safety.
I seek no release, neither see a way of turning back therefrom.
May he, who knows the way, conduct me by the right path.
